At HerInfluence.in, we believe every woman’s journey carries a story of resilience, ambition, and identity. In this interview, we speak with Tejaswani Singh Rajput, a fashion enthusiast whose childhood dream of building her own fashion empire continues to guide her journey today.
From growing up amidst the artistic richness of Bengal to gaining hands-on experience in luxury retail, Tejaswani shares how creativity, persistence, and vision are shaping her path in the fashion world.

HerInfluence: Tell us about your early years. What first sparked your interest in fashion?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
I have always been someone deeply connected to art, music, and creative expression. Growing up in Bengal, I was surrounded by culture, vibrant colors, and artistic influences that naturally shaped my imagination.
Interestingly, my dream began very early. I remember being in Class 7 when I first imagined becoming a fashion designer. But it wasn’t just about designing clothes—I wanted to build something of my own. Even as a child, I dreamed of becoming a businesswoman who would create a fashion empire, something people could recognize and connect with.
HerInfluence: When did you realize that fashion designing could become your career?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
That childhood dream eventually became the motivation behind learning fashion designing and understanding the industry more closely. I knew that if I truly wanted to build something meaningful, I had to understand both the creative and business side of fashion.
However, the journey hasn’t always been easy. Fashion is a very competitive industry, and there were moments when the dream felt almost unachievable. But no matter how difficult things felt, I never allowed myself to give up on what I truly believed in.

HerInfluence: You’ve worked in luxury retail as well. How did that experience shape your understanding of the fashion industry?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
Working in luxury retail was a very important step in my journey. It allowed me to understand the practical side of fashion.
From managing store operations to understanding customer psychology and styling preferences, I learned how fashion actually functions in the real world. I had the opportunity to interact with diverse clients, and over time I built a strong and loyal clientele.
This experience strengthened my confidence and gave me valuable insights into the business side of fashion, which will definitely play a key role when I start my own brand.
HerInfluence: Who inspires you creatively in the world of fashion?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
One of my biggest inspirations is Iris van Herpen. Her work beautifully blends tradition, science, and innovation in a way that feels truly futuristic.
What inspires me most is her ability to push the boundaries of fashion and create something completely unique. She reminds me that fashion doesn’t have to follow conventional rules—it can be a space where imagination and innovation meet.
HerInfluence: How do you personally define fashion?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
For me, fashion is much more than clothing. It is a form of expression, identity, and storytelling.
Every outfit carries emotion, personality, and culture. I believe fashion should reflect who we are and what we want to communicate to the world.

HerInfluence: What is your ultimate vision for the future?
Tejaswani Singh Rajput:
Currently, I’m based in Hyderabad and continuing to learn and grow every day. My dream is to blend tradition with modern innovation and create my own unique fashion statement.
No matter how long the journey takes, I am determined to stay true to my vision and build my own fashion brand very soon.
